OUR LEGACY

The Redlands Coast Blues Festival, a vibrant celebration of blues music, is set to return in April 2025 at the Redlands Showgrounds in Cleveland.

Formerly known as Redland Bayside Blues Festival bringing Blues to Redland City since 2014 - a great family friendly festival. With humble beginnings - and just over 1,000 attendees in the first year - Blues Fest has grown into a cornerstone community event, attracting 10,000 people by 2020. That same year, the festival made a powerful impact by raising over $5,000 for family and domestic violence support through a car raffle.

Despite challenges in covering costs, the festival thrives as a community-driven initiative. It bolsters local businesses, and owes much of its success to the dedicated efforts of the Reignite Redlands Coast Blues Festival sub-committee of the Capalaba Rotary Club. This is more than a music festival—it's a celebration of connection, resilience, and local pride.

The Redlands Coast Blues Festival was founded in 2014 by the Capalaba Rotary Club, spearheaded by Warren Doyle and then-Councillor Paul Gleeson, to address the lack of major events in the area. The inaugural festival attracted 3,500 attendees, andhas grown significantly, now drawing over 10,000 people.

In 2020, the festival was honored with the Redland City Council Australia Day Cultural Award, recognizing its impact on the local community.
